Mayors sign environmental pledge

Wednesday, April 16, 2008
By: Michael Davis (Contact)

Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield and Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger this afternoon signed an environmental pledge to cut back on their use of plastic shopping bags, refrain from running the water when brushing their teeth and take other green-friendly steps.

“These small actions can make a big difference,” Mr. Littlefield said before signing a pledge placard at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Innovation awards at the Chattanooga Convention Center.

The environmental pledge is being coordinated by greenspaces, which aims to get more environmentally sustainable buildings in downtown Chattanooga.
