Exhibition Opening and Celebration Kickoff
Tuesday, November 15, 2012 10:00 am - Rotunda Mayor Coppinger hosted a press conference announcing the schedule of events and the opening of a historical exhibit that will remain open for a year. The exhibit includes photos and maps of past courthouses, county seats, and organizations, people and things that have helped shape our community. Centennial Celebration commemorative pins went on sale.
Christmas Open House
Tuesday, December 11, 2012 5:30 – 7:00 pm - Rotunda More than 100 people came out for the Christmas Open House hosted by Mayor Coppinger. The event featured choral performances by the Chattanooga Girls Choir and the Chattanooga Boys Choir in the Rotunda. Holiday refreshments were served.
Stories with Mrs. Claus
Thursday, December 13, 2012 6:00 – 7:30 – Rotunda Children were invited to decorate Christmas cookies and listen to stories read by Ms. Claus, (played by Shula Yelliott of Read 20). The event was very well attended and more than 50 children took home free books.
Centennial Celebration on the Lawn
Saturday, June 29, 2013: 7:00 – 10:00 pm – Courthouse Lawn More than 200 people enjoyed a free concert by “Sweet Georgia Sound” followed by a laser light show produced by Solid Gold Live Productions at dark. Children’s games and activities were provided by Parks and Recreation and Step ONE, along with a read-aloud by Read 20 during a band intermission. Concessions were sold.
