The County Mayor is elected to a four year term by the citizens of Hamilton County
to head the executive branch of Hamilton County Government.
As the Chief Fiscal Officer for the County, it is the Mayor’s responsibility to
oversee the preparation and administration of official budgets and financial reports.
In conjunction with division heads, the Mayor manages the daily operations of County
General Government and ensures that all applicable laws, policies, and resolutions
are implemented.
The Mayor serves on a number of boards and commissions and is empowered to enter
into contracts and has authority to negotiate and execute loans, notes or other
forms of indebtedness on behalf of Hamilton County. The Mayor works closely with
the Chamber of Commerce and other local, state and federal representatives to recruit
new businesses and expand existing ones in our area.
The Mayor provides recommendations to the County Commission and keeps them advised
of the financial condition and future needs of the County. |
