Finance and Budget Committee
Purpose: Review, monitor, and recommend actions to the full Commission on county financial matters.
Scope: Review budgets, appropriations, spending, discretionary funds, purchasing procedures, and all insurance matters; coordinate budget development with the County Mayor, CFO/Finance Department, and Commissioners; work with the Finance Department and County Auditor on fiscal policy, audits, and required reports.
Rules and Legislative Committee
Purpose: Manage Commission rules and advance legislative and legal items for orderly governance.
Scope: Maintain and recommend changes to rules of procedure; review local legislation and policy initiatives; coordinate with the County Attorney on legal matters; track and advise on state legislative issues; support effective coordination between the executive and legislative branches.
Public Works and Zoning Committee
Alternate
Purpose: Advance infrastructure, environmental services, and orderly land use.
Scope: Review roads and bridges, sewers, solid waste, rolling stock, garages, and parking; promote transportation planning, energy conservation, and recycling; coordinate with the Regional Planning Commission on planning, zoning, and countywide development; review surveys, current conditions, and probable future developments and make recommendations.
Delinquent Tax Property Committee
Purpose: Manage policy and recommendations for property acquired through delinquent tax proceedings.
Scope: Review and recommend approval of delinquent tax property sales presented by the County Trustee and Real Property Division; address legal and transactional matters related to acquisition, management, and disposition of such properties in coordination with the County Attorney and other appropriate offices.
